Feelings are part of a person’s life and influence it in different ways.
However, it is not the person itself that influences us, but the very feeling or emotion felt. It is up to you to give it a new meaning or let if affect you negatively.
Human beings are capable to experience a great variety of feelings, starting with happiness and ending up with sadness.
But did you know that these feelings and emotion also influence the way in which our body functions internally?
Well, emotions are actually the result of our brain’s activity, which releases different chemicals.
For instance, when your body releases serotonin, you feel happy whereas when it releases cortisol you feel tense.
It is very amazing how these two elements are related and how this whole process works!
Positive vs. negative
We hear all the time talking about duality, about good and bad or positive vs. negative thinking. But, do they exist after all or it is simply a matter of perception? Well, depending on one’s personality, people can react differently to similar situations.
For instance, some drivers who get cut in traffic become angry, stressed and loses their temper, falling into a bad mood, whereas others, who experience the same situation, remain calm, press the brake and move on as if nothing had happened.
Is it perception?
As you can see, the same situation can be seen with different eyes. There is no such thing as positive or negative situations. It is, indeed, a matter of perception! And the way in which you treat things and situation can influence your life and body in a negative or positive way.
Body and mind connection
Even if there are moments in which you don’t realize it, your body is closely connected to your mind.
A positive way of thinking and a good mood can actually determine you to have a healthy lifestyle and even do sport, whereas a pessimistic mood and personality will only determine you do the contrary.
This happens because every feeling and emotion that we feel is deposited somewhere in our body. I am sure that at least once in your life you have had the impression that you have felt pain in a certain part of your body when something bad happened to a person dear to you.
In addition, there are pains that hide certain emotions. As strange as it may sound, it is true.
Experiments have shown that pain in the back may not be related to any physical pain and despite of the exercises and treatment followed, the only thing that actually may work is a change of emotions.
In other words, sometimes, when you experience such pain or tightness you should first of all think if there is something else behind that particular pain.
In regard to this matter, it is very important to know yourself before being able to discover this tight connection between your mind and your body.
You must know the experiences that you had and how they influenced your life and what you did to change them or accept them.
